I was absolutely thrilled to get an invitation to the Tadashi Fall 2013 fashion show
on Thursday at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week!
Can anyone guess my favorite look?
I've told this story before, but my first memory of Tadashi is when I bought a Tadashi dress for a wedding many years ago. It was a beautiful piece that has never gone out of style and I still wear it now! Every spring, it ends up making an appearance somewhere fabulous. Look on any red carpet and you'll be guaranteed to see Tadashi everywhere, year after year.
That being said, it wasn't a huge surprise that this collection is beautiful, timeless, and elegant. After all, making beautifully flattering dresses is what Mr. Shoji specializes in, in my opinion. He was inspired by a trip to Russia, and the voluminous backs on some of the dresses and tops were a nod to the robes of Russian Orthodox priests. I like anything resembling a cape of some sort, so you can probably deduce that I was elated with this new cape-like silhouette!! The genius of this silhouette is that even with the volume in the back, the bodice and waist was still fitted so it doesn't leave you looking wide. Speaking of that....
Fun side note about Tadashi attire: it always makes you look skinnier.
Folks, if that isn't enough reason to check out this brand for your next dressy event,
I don't know what is.
Another home run for this amazing designer!
I can't wait to see who wears Tadashi to the Oscar's!
