If you're like me, narrowing down what you want to invest your $$$ in for spring purchases can be a fun, yet somewhat overwhelming process. (florals! neon! black and white! bows! polka dots! so many options! ah!)
Sometimes, you make a couple of purchases here and there but when it comes down to it, you still feel like, "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR."
That is why I came up with this handy little guide outlining 6 great spring basics. You can mix and match them into lots of outfits! You probably already have a couple of these too!
You are covered for a wedding, brunch with the girls, running errands.....
Here's what you need:
- A solid chambray shirt can be the workhorse of your spring staples. Wear it unbuttoned, wear it tied at the waist, wear it over another shirt... the possibilities are endless.
- A great pair of updated pointy toe black heels. It's quite simple, they go with everything! (The ones above are from Zara which you can buy {here}.)
- A great new pair of fresh looking flats. I'd say d'orsay style or pointy toes are the way to really update the look. I chose red because I think red goes with almost anything. A great animal print would work here too!
- A longer, black midi skirt. I chose black because it can be dressed up or down the easiest.
- A great, cotton striped shirt. Hands down, the other major workhorse of your spring wardrobe! You can mix and match a striped shirt with tons of other prints too = especially florals!
- A pretty dress in a bright color. Pick one that will work for a wedding or a fancy brunch. You can always dress it down later.
Here are some similar looks I pulled for you to try on:
(I just bought that Old Navy chambray top yesterday!)
The next time you are packing for a weekend getaway this spring,
just remember to pack 6 items similar to this and you've got tons of
outfits!! After getting these basics, throw in the splurges and probably
less practical things you are craving!
How is everyone's week going?
