Haaaapy Monday friends! Phew! I just got home last night from 4 days of fashion week, followed by the Falcons season opener (we won!), followed by my friend Marlene’s wedding. Never have I ever stepped off of the plane from fashion week and walked straight to my seat at an NFL game (I made it for 2 quarters), followed by a wedding, but I suppose there is a first time for everything. Needless to say, it was a pretty amazing weekend on all fronts, and I’m still on a bit of a fashion week high.

This outfit is what I wore actually Thursday night to an Old Navy event with Joe Zee.  Several of my blogger friends were at this party on that very first night so it was so fun to catch up with everyone right away. Unfortunately since I was so busy Thursday I totally forgot to shoot this outfit for a post, so I ended up waking up early and squeezing it in on Sunday (yesterday) morning with my friend Amanda right before brunch and flying home.  It happened to be the prettiest morning ever, which made it that much harder to throw my luggage in a cab and fly home. We went to the most amazing early morning brunch and strolled around these streets soaking in the last few minutes of the trip and it was glorious.

On another note: I decided that this top is possibly the most perfect travel top ever.

Why? Let me count the ways.

1) It is pleather so it doesn’t wrinkle. A travel-wear must.

2) It zips up the back, which means you can actually turn it around and wear it as a little un-zipped jacket if you need to – so it’s super versatile!! I wore it as a jacket on the flight home actually!

MORE:  Choosing Kitchen Countertops

3) The material is super low maintenance. It says hand wash, but hello, you can wear it a few times. Perfect for traveling.

4) Black goes with everything.

5) You can easily dress it up like I did here. Or dress it down with jeans or shorts.

The top I’m wearing is by Lulu’s, but only available now in white. A nearly identical option by BB Dakota is available here and here, (which I also linked to in widget above).

Fashion Week Recap Day 1:  On Thursday I woke up at 4 am, landed at 9 am, made it to Empire Hotel by 10:15, and was shooting an outfit post (not this one) with Lydia by 10:30. (That post is coming soon by the way.) By 11:00 I was on my way to my first show, Matheiu Mirano. // Side Note: I am obsessed with Matheiu Mirano. I have been following his career since his very first collection at fashion week a couple of years ago and have always been obsessed with his style.  No surprise to me, he dressed Lady Gaga recently and is just going to be getting bigger and bigger, so be on the lookout for his stuff.  I die for his work!! // After Mirano, I rushed back to Lincoln Center for 3 back-to-back shows: Jay Godfrey, Tadashi Shoji, and Desigual.  By that point it was after 4:00 so I took 5 minutes to check into my room & move my bags upstairs and then grabbed a late lunch with Jackie, changed, and then was off to the 6:00 Old Navy Party mentioned above to meet up with everyone. I ended the day over gossip and a late dinner at Rosa Mexicano, and finally went to bed at about 2:00 am after unpacking and organizing for my next day. Phew! What a day! Stay tuned for the recap of Day 2.

Hi friends! I'm a Georgia based wife & mom. I started blogging in 2009 (!) and have covered a range of topics over the years, but in 2021 I am placing an emphasis on finding the good things to celebrate. In 2020 I think we have all learned to cherish time with family, enjoy the little things, and celebrate occasions big or small. I'll share special pieces I find that I believe can punctuate these days for the best. Reach out to me at tiffany@bloomstudiocreative.com if you'd like to get in touch! Thanks for stopping by! Take your shoes off and stay a while.

It’s incredible how black and white always looks so perfectly! Even more, when it’s all about leather and midi skirts! Love it!
