Happy Friday friends! Today’s look is what I wore for the first part of Day 2 of fashion week. You can read a full recap of what I did on Day 2 below if you’re interested. (Day 1 recap here.)

This little two-piece was so cute and inexpensive, I  just couldn’t pass it up. I have Asos premier, which means I get 2 day free shipping anytime. (Amazing!) Even if you don’t have Asos premier (which I think is $20 a year .. kind of like a Barnes and Noble card, ha) Asos has free shipping both ways, all the time, no minimum. What? It’s been years since I first started shopping at Asos but honestly the free shipping both ways thing never ceases to impress me. Because of this, I have kind of made a tradition now of placing a last minute “extras” order from Asos 3 days before I leave for fashion week, (and any big trip for that matter). I plan most outfits in advance, mostly with things I already have, but inevitably there are a few things I still need. This time I really needed a couple of just basic black dresses that could be dresses up or down, along with a few other basic things. This two-piece set I threw in at the last minute. Whoops! One black dress I thought might look awkward I ended up loving (coming soon to the blog).  Another dress I was banking on as being a great basic, ended up being too boring.  (I’m sending it back.) That is the beauty of Asos though. You can order a ton of stuff and then just send back whatever didn’t work out. They even send you the shipping label for returns. Thank you Asos for being awesome.

Fashion Week Recap Day 2: On Day 2 I woke up at 7:00 am, ready to go go go. (This only happens during fashion week I am so not a morning person.) I spent the first part of morning catching up on emails, texts and let’s be honest, instagram, trying to get set for the day. First on the agenda was to meet up with Lydia to shoot these pics! After we shot, we attempted to go to Starbucks to get some fuel before my first show and her long day of shoots, but the line was out. the. door.  It is always bad at that Starbucks during fashion week but wowza. Duane Reade to the rescue on a quick snack before heading off to my first show, Mark & Estel. After the show, I had to quickly pack up my room at Empire Hotel, as I was moving in with my friend Amanda on the Upper East Side for the remainder of the trip.  I went ahead and changed into outfit #2 since I knew it was going to be a long afternoon and my bags were going into storage. Next up was the Carmen Marc Valvo show, followed by a Trina Turk event, and then back to the Empire Lobby to meet up with some friends. I shot my second outfit of the day with Lydia at this point – and I was her 21st outfit of the day! We decided we had probably broken an outfit-taking record. After sharing some fries and rosé, (ha!) with Grace, Jessica and Lydia, I headed off to William Okpo to meet up with Alex and some other friends. A group of us ended up grabbing drinks and dinner after the show. We planned to all drop off our goody bags and do another outfit change and meet back up somewhere on the UES. Of course once I made it to Amanda’s she and I had so much to catch up on, I never made it out with the girls. Did I mention Amanda had chocolates on my pillow, as well as an entire electrical outlet strip extension cord next to my bed? She is the best hostess ever. I immediately hooked up all my devices! Phone, tablet, charger, other charger …  (Here’s what she hand delivered me the next morning while I was still in bed! Empire Hotel can’t beat that.) Amanda and I ended up getting waffles at a cafe late night. If you’re keeping score here, that’s a Duane Reade snack for “breakfast” ish, (3 bites of yogurt that wasn’t good), a few fries and rosé for a 4:30 “lunch,” then 2 dinners.  Several hours apart. But still, 2 dinners. Take that fashion week.

Hi friends! I'm a Georgia based wife & mom. I started blogging in 2009 (!) and have covered a range of topics over the years, but in 2021 I am placing an emphasis on finding the good things to celebrate. In 2020 I think we have all learned to cherish time with family, enjoy the little things, and celebrate occasions big or small. I'll share special pieces I find that I believe can punctuate these days for the best. Reach out to me at tiffany@bloomstudiocreative.com if you'd like to get in touch! Thanks for stopping by! Take your shoes off and stay a while.
