Around the holidays I had the pleasure of meeting with the Smythson team at Neiman Marcus in Atlanta. It was quite the treat because Smythson is brand new to Neiman Marcus. There are only a couple of NM’s that carry Smythson, and Atlanta happens to be one of them (as of December)! When they visited the store, they even brought their very own hand-stamper for their leather goods. I was lucky enough to get a little “Make It Happen” notebook, with my initials stamped right on.
Since this is a hand-stamped lambskin notebook that I’d like to last a while, I definitely do not use it for my everyday to-do list. Instead, I decided it would be the perfect little notebook to keep with me to jot down my grand scheme goals as they come to me. Big or little things that I really want to “make happen.” Having something so special as a Smythson notebook makes it seem more official when I declare a goal! And once it’s in the “Make It Happen” notebook, it seems to become a little more concrete. (This is coming from the girl who once bought a book called “Write It Down, Make It Happen,” based on the idea that when you take the time to write out your goals, they become more real and end up happening. I never actually read the book – whoops – but totally believe in that train of thought!)
For local friends, if you aren’t familiar with Smythson you should definitely stop by Neiman Marcus at Lenox Square Mall and check out their pieces. The brand is so iconic and rooted with history (based in London on Bond Street), you’ll love becoming familiar with it. It’s been around since 1887 after all. The travel pieces are my favorite. They even have “currency cases” where you can put all of your different money from different countries in separate pockets. Jet-setter!
I think I’m going to add “travel so much that you need a currency case” to my Make It Happen notebook. :)
Thank you for stopping by today! Sorry this post is coming later in the day than I’d hoped – I’m writing from the Delta Sky Lounge! Stay tuned to instagram for the behind the scenes of fashion week while I’m away! XO
