Welcome to April’s edition of Decor du Mois! This month we’re discussing easy spring updates you can do around your casa. This is a post I’m super excited about because I really do love livening things up this time of year to be a little more fun.

Thank you as always to Laura for putting together this monthly feature! And special thank you to her this month for also showing us around her home!! She snapped these photos for us to enjoy, and I’m just dying over her decor! Here’s what Laura has to say:

Spring has sprung here in Atlanta and I couldn’t be happier! Seeing the azaleas at the Masters last weekend and hearing the birds chirping outside makes me want to bring spring inside. There are quick and easy ways to do this without breaking the bank. And if the budget is of no worry, by all means, go ahead and change out the drapes, paint the walls a sweet shade of robins egg blue or rose quartz and buy some new upholstered furniture. ;)

I like to pick a color and stick with it in each room. Spring makes me think of yellow and pink so those are usually my colors of choice.

Step 1. Add fresh flowers. An orchid or bundle of tulips adds instant life to a room! I personally check out Trader Joe’s fresh flowers before going anywhere else. An easier and longer lasting option is flowering branches. I have faux ones and I mix the real ones in. My personal favorites are Forsythia and Cherry Blossoms.

Step 2. Add throw pillows. I have a thing for throw pillows and I actually keep extras hidden in closets to change them out.

Step 3. Add texture and interest with a throw whether it is patterned or tasseled. It’s also a key way to make a room feel more lived in and cozy!

Step 4. Pick a conversational piece to add to the mix whether it is like my bird creamer, Staffordshire dog or a coffee table book.

Step 5. You can never go wrong with a ginger jar. My heart swoons over spring flowers in a blue and white vase. Blue hydrangeas, orange tulips or a bundle of cherry blossoms always make my excited for spring!

Last month we discussed achieving a fabulous Formal Dining Room.

In February we hosted a Galentine’s Celebration and gave you lots of fun little tips for how to set up a girl’s brunch, which you could totally do any time of year.

And in January we chatted about how to achieve a fabulous Bold Powder Room.

Hi friends! I'm a Georgia based wife & mom. I started blogging in 2009 (!) and have covered a range of topics over the years, but in 2021 I am placing an emphasis on finding the good things to celebrate. In 2020 I think we have all learned to cherish time with family, enjoy the little things, and celebrate occasions big or small. I'll share special pieces I find that I believe can punctuate these days for the best. Reach out to me at tiffany@bloomstudiocreative.com if you'd like to get in touch! Thanks for stopping by! Take your shoes off and stay a while.
