Applying Manna Kadar Lip Wand in “J’adore”
Happy Monday! Today I am excited to be teaming up with my blogger babes again for another #MommyMonday post: Mireille at City Peach, Katie at Life With A Dash of Whimsy, Nina at The HSS Feed, and Ali at Inspired By.
Today’s post is all about beauty products and routines surrounding being a mom.
I’ll confess, since becoming a mom, I actually almost never go without makeup. Ha! Even when William was a newborn, I got dressed every single day (even if it was gym clothes) and did my makeup. Something about doing this helped everything feel a little more put together, even if i wasn’t getting 8 hours of sleep and enjoying a weekly manicure.
That being said, I’ve definitely got a few favorite go-to products that can help me feel a little more polished in a pinch.
One big change I’ve made recently is experimenting with wearing a lip wand/chubby, instead of lipstick. Especially in the day time, I find that a matte product like this is a little less in your face (pun intended) than a true lipstick, which can start to smear or look wonky if you aren’t really paying attention to it. I’ve been wearing the Manna Kadar LipLocked Priming Lip Wand in “J’Adore” a pretty good bit and I’ve been loving it. You can use it like a liner and wear lipstick over it, or use it alone.
Also, I’ve used it to invent a new beauty hack!
Beauty hack broken down:
I’m sure you’ve heard the beauty tip that beauty is really all about symmetry. The eye perceives a face to be more beautiful when things are symmetrical. I think that is one of the biggest reasons why brows have become such a big thing. Making them exactly mirror each other by filling in any little “gaps” on each side makes a HUGE difference.
Well lately I’ve noticed something not so symmetrical on my face. My lips! My top lip is much smaller than my bottom. It’s always annoyed me, but I honestly just try to ignore it. However, recently I’ve tried a little trick. I apply one of my Manna Kadar lip wands to my top lip with a lot of precision and make sure to fill it in all the way to the absolute edge. Not a Kylie overfill, but just RIGHT to the edge, almost like i’m applying a lip liner with a lot of precision. Then on the bottom I apply more like a chapstick, just a little swipe down.
Whatttt – major difference. It definitely makes my top lip look like it’s closer to the size of my bottom lip. Also my top lip disappears a little less when I smile which is nice. Obviously you want to do this trick in a subtle way, but I definitely recommend trying it if your lips aren’t the same size! Let me know what you think! You can even try it first with a nude lip liner or lip wand if you want to practice.
Other beauty products I’ve been loving:
Lately I’ve been loving IT cosmedix’s Superhero mascara, and bye-bye pores powder. Also I’ve been experimenting with lots of brow products all the time of course, but have recently switched back to Ecobrow (wrote about it here) and am loving it.
Thank you to Manna Kadar for sending over these lip wands for us to try out! Stay tuned for a giveaway tonight on instagram @tiffanyolson at 7pm EST.
