Holiday Skincare Routine

My beauty routine was looking a little bleak recently (see: dull skin, lol) so I’ve been trying to step it up a bit as we’re heading into such a party-heavy time of year!  #help

This is my legit list for all the things I’m doing this week to get back on track.
1. Book a brow shaping appointment.
Once a year I let my brows grow out a bit more than usual to make sure my shape isn’t getting too far from the natural shape I already have. Needless to say, I am due for a brow shaping before all the parties get going this week.
2. Coconut Oil Pulling every day.
A few weeks ago I kept getting a weird taste in my mouth that seemed to not really go away with brushing or mouth wash. I remember seeing on Waiting On Martha that this product will give you the cleanest feeling mouth ever – so I ordered a bottle and haven’t looked back. (See her site for instructions on how to use!)

3. Not skipping my eye cream.
I tend to get a bit lax on my morning and evening skincare rituals when I know I don’t have anything “big” coming up. Terrible, I know! So I’m getting back into the routine of making sure to use my Colleen Rothschild eye cream every morning and evening too.  I definitely think it makes my eyes look a little perkier & I love the way this cream really sinks into the skin. (Instead of that dreaded cream caked on feel.)

4. Bye Bye Dull Skin.
The Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum from Colleen Rothschild promises cellular turnover, and gentle exfoliation that breaks down dead skin cells. Aka bye bye dull skin. I’ve only used this product a few times since I haven’t had it long but I can already tell a difference. Seriously it is crazy what a little cell turnover and exfoliation can do for your face! Makeup even goes on nicer.

5.  Brighten Up.
This Retinol Treatment Complex works to brighten up skin, which I like to use after the serum, once I’m properly exfoliated. I’ve only used one other retinol product before, and I think this one was more gentle, which I love.

Retinol can make your skin a little more sensitive to the sun, so I’ve recently swapped to this CC Cream by Goop with 35 SPF. I love the way it looks, and even though it’s not summer, I legit breathe a little easier knowing I have another layer of sunscreen on! #Seriously I wear another layer of sunscreen underneath just in case. :)

7. Shimmer it up.
I’ll be honest I’ve actually had this makeup pallet above for months and I just now cracked it open! It is the Je Ne Said Quoi by It Cosmetics and I just LOVE that you can easily add blush, bronzer, highlighter, and powder in a few swipes. I think it comes in handy when you want to quickly add a little holiday drama to your face for an evening event that you probably wouldn’t wear in the a.m.

So there you have it folks. Just a few of the things on my beauty checklist for holiday.
