Cult Gaia Ark Bag // Orange Lantern Sleeve Top on major sale
I have a confession to make. I’m going a little crazy over here with fun, totally impractical handbags. Now that William is a little older, I don’t need a larger tote like I have the last couple of years. Cue: handbag mania in anticipation of SPRING!!!!!!!
The one above is my first Cult Gaia purchase, which I snapped a pic of last week at Sea Island. It was definitely a big IT bag last year among the fashion set but I just wasn’t quite on board yet – mostly because it seemed so many people had it! On a whim I decided to order this one this year, and now I get it. The construction is beautiful, it is completely handmade, and it adds interesting depth and texture to an outfit, amiright?
Even though I ordered this one from Nordstrom, the second it arrived I decided to check out the actual Cult Gaia website to see what other goodies they have up their sleeves. Turns out they have A LOT of fabulous items. The rattan bangles?? I die. So fun. And this bag even collapses to fold flat for easy summer travel. Whatttt. (It’s on my list for my next purchase.) The best part is that even with these pieces being like mini handmade works of art, the prices aren’t too bad. Definitely worth checking out.
I’ve included a whole bunch of my favorite spring bags below.
Here’s a little trend list I’ve noticed I’m into this year for spring:
- Natural materials like rattan, wicker, bamboo are excellent.
- Basket bags. Yes.
- The Bucket shape is a little revised for spring this year and I’m loving it.
- The circle shape reigns supreme.
- Gingham is always in for spring, which is nice because you can use it year after year. (I have one gingham DVF bag I got 3 years ago and I still pull it out each spring.)
Let’s start at the bottom of the budget. This bag is $18. I repeat $18. I ordered the large size and have even been using it to carry laptop! It’s great.
This article says this $18 It bag is “set to confuse dads everywhere.” haha :)

This cute gingham bag below is a Target find! Can you believe it??
I’m obsessed with this woven drum bag. Under $100 and handmade by artisans from Teganan Village, Bali. Yes.
These are great options under $100 too:
These are my favorites from Cult Gaia:
Moving on up in the budget territory, these are my favorite Bucket bags (by STAUD and Simon Miller) that are set to be the biggest for spring. I’m obsessed with this shape and dying for a pink one for cherry blossom season. ;)
Lastly, some of my favorites that are off the budget chart but let’s dream.
